Many people are very afraid of American Style debate because they are afraid of losing and cannot hold their own. They say that American Style debate is too argumentative and yet many who utter these words are indeed British subjects and look at their parliament. So, often the Englishmen who refuses to debate an American resorts to calling the other person uncivilized.
This tag is utterly incredulous because the Englishmen himself will stand on his pedigree or University degree and call the other man ignorant. Indeed, a common ploy of rhetoric debate, however it be wise to know that the Englishman has already engaged in American Style debate by his round about accusations. Why are Englishmen afraid to debate reality?
The answer is simply to debate in reality you will have had to do something in the real world, not merely in academia. Citing past historical figures or events or fancy names, places and eras of past periods will not often answer the question at hand. Although history generally repeats, applying Plato in misquotes to whether a bridge should be built or a city revitalized does not cross the gap of common sense.
American Debate Style is much about common sense and if those who refuse to debate in this venue cry of unfairness, it is merely because they do not possess any. Dear Englishmen, get with the program and back up your words, if you cannot back up your words, kindly refrain from speaking as to not show yourself the fool.
