One would think by reading the foreign newspapers and world news that most Americans are dissatisfied with the United States government. Most people are not completely dissatisfied with the United States government although they wish it would be more efficient, transparent and accountable.
What is truly fascinating is that many Democrat candidates are stating that most Americans are dissatisfied with the government and they are merely repeating what the foreign newspapers are saying. But at the same time the Bush Administration has signed The Accountability and Transparency Act. The Democrats did not sign on to this in its entirety and wanted numerous changes and that is truly unfortunate.
It seems like there is a little bit of hypocrisy going on with regard to Americans and their satisfaction surveys with our own government. The United States citizen realizes that they own the government and if we are dissatisfied with it, it is a lot like being dissatisfied with your own image in the mirror. If you are having a bad hair day, it makes sense to brush her hair.
Isn't that what the Accountability and Transparency Act is all about? The Bush Administration is working hard to make sure that government runs efficiently and that most Americans are satisfied with the government. Perhaps we need to put all this in proper perspective and think on this in 2006.
