How To Make Native American Jewelry

I'm sure I wasn't the only one who was completely in awe at the stalker-individual who sang to Paula Abdul last night on American Idol. I must say the portion of the song where he implicitly described going into Paula's room and trying on her underwear was more than unsettling. Am I the only who finds myself actually more disturbed, than entertained, by the American Idol auditions? Honestly, I find that these auditions are like a car wreck -- you don't want to see what's going on, yet you just can't turn away. Odd.

Moving on to the purpose of this article -- the jewelry of course! In between laughing at Paula's facial expressions while this man went on with his frightening-yet-poetic song, I was ultimately impressed (as always) with her ensemble. Always stylistically put together on American Idol, despite accusations of drug-use and alcoholism, Paula's accessories were particularly noteworthy. She wore three, simple, yet essential pieces -- a long, gold, link-chain necklace, gold hoop earrings, and a couple gold bangles.

Although sometimes it is difficult to pull off three pieces of jewelry at once, Paula managed it flawlessly. Here are a couple tips on how Paula's stylist keeps her look fresh and clean...

  • When wearing multiple pieces of jewelry, be certain that they all stick to a "theme." For instance, all of Paula's jewelry was of the same, gold tone.

  • If you want to mix colors, ensure that they are all of the same color scheme.

  • Abiding by the "theme," be certain that each piece of jewelry complements the others. You don't want one or two pieces to stand out against the others, or you will look disorganized and overdone.

  • If you wear one big, ostentatious, heart pendant, you should refrain from wearing big heart earrings as well.

  • Notice how Paula's jewelry was all circular, yet minimal -- the hoops, the bracelets, and the chain-link necklace all flow naturally together.
