The 4 pointed stars are some of the more common stars designed today. They either symbolise crosses, or they can be associated with Native American Tribes. It is believed that early Native American tribes used the 4 pointed stars as art on pottery and on rocks.


The 5 Pointed Star


Also known as pentagrams, 5 pointed stars can have different meanings.


An upright star is a symbol of paganism while an upside down star symbolizes Satanism.


The 6 pointed Star


This is the Star of David which symbolizes Jewish faith. The Marian Star which is also a 6 pointed, is used by the Roman Catholic Church to portray celestial objects related to the Virgin Mary.


The 7 pointed Star


The 7 pointed star is a symbol of perfection or the perfect man. The gold 7 pointed star also represents the Cherokee nation, and is found in the middle of the Cherokee flag.


The 8 Pointed Star


The 8 pointed stars are not very common designs. However, they do hold a lot of meaning. This star symbolises the cross of Saint John, as well as the emblem of the Knights of Malta.


This star was used to represent virtues of the Maltan knight's. These virtues were; Tact, Perseverance, Gallantry, Loyalty, Dexterity, Explicitness, Observation and Sympathy.


The 9 pointed star


The 9 pointed star is believed to symbolise the unity of the world - it also represents the eternal connection of the 3 trinities.


The Nautical Star


The historical meaning of the nautical star was used to symbolize protection, guidance, loyalty and honor.
